Voter registration is your first step to being a stakeholder in Nigeria's 2027 elections. INEC (Independent National Electoral Commission) conducts Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) across all 774 Local Government Areas.
Requirements:
- •You must be a Nigerian citizen
- •You must be at least 18 years old by election day (January 16, 2027)
- •You must not have registered previously
- •Bring a valid means of identification (National ID, Driver's License, International Passport, or NIN slip)
Steps:
- 1.Visit the INEC CVR portal at https://cvr.inecnigeria.org or go to your nearest INEC LGA office
- 2.Complete the online pre-registration form with your biometric data
- 3.Visit your designated INEC office to complete biometric capture
- 4.Collect your Permanent Voter's Card (PVC) when ready
Important Dates: INEC typically suspends voter registration 90 days before an election. For the 2027 elections scheduled for January 16, 2027, registration will likely close by October 2026. Do not wait.
Your PVC is your power. Without it, you have no voice on election day.
