Electricity Act 2023 signed June 2023, decentralising grid management to states. Several states (Enugu, Ondo, Edo, Lagos) have begun establishing electricity markets. National grid still collapses periodically; generation hovers ~4–5 GW for 220M+ Nigerians.

Policy position
Implementation of the Electricity Act as the central reform vehicle. Tariff rationalisation across customer bands (Band A/B/C/D/E) launched in 2024 to make distribution companies investable. Renewable-energy expansion via REA mini-grids.
