Consular services. Passport renewal, NIN updates, certifications and emergency travel documents are handled by the High Commission. Voter registration enquiries are forwarded to INEC; the embassy itself cannot register or update PVCs.
Voting from France. Diaspora voting in Nigerian general elections is not yet active — registered voters must return to their polling unit in Nigeria. The Diaspora Voting Bill has been introduced in successive National Assembly sessions; status updates surface in Ruzzen's news feed when relevant.
Donating from France. Crypto contributions through NowPayments avoid the FX restrictions and AML friction of bank transfers. Local rules on political donations from abroad still apply — Nigeria's Electoral Act 2022 restricts foreign contributions to Nigerian campaigns; if you are a Nigerian citizen living in France you can typically contribute, while non-citizens generally cannot. Confirm your situation with counsel before donating large amounts.
How to organise from France
The Obi/Kwankwaso NDC ticket is the most credible opposition vehicle since 2003. Diaspora organising decides margins in close states — and the head-to-head numbers say Lagos, Kano and FCT are close.
01 · Donate
NowPayments converts your contribution and routes the settled funds directly to the campaign wallet. No bank-rail friction, no chargebacks. Settlement is typically minutes to a few hours after on-chain confirmation.
02 · Get voters home
Diaspora voting was not active in the 2023 cycle and remains in legislative debate for 2027. Registered Nigerian voters living abroad must return to their PU in Nigeria. Start booking flights 3–4 months out — peak season for Lagos and Abuja fills early.
03 · Verify your PVC
PVCs (Permanent Voter Cards) remain valid across cycles, but if you have moved within Nigeria or never collected your card, fix it during INEC continuous voter registration windows. Coordinate with family back home.
04 · Amplify the data
Pull the daily-refreshed head-to-head matchups into your WhatsApp groups and newsletters. Independent data carries more weight than campaign press releases, especially with undecided diaspora cohorts.
05 · Host a viewing
In-person diaspora events around debates and election night convert passive supporters into active organisers. Universities, embassy-adjacent venues and Nigerian-owned businesses are the obvious hosts.
